Chicken Church Outreach
Many who come to us feel judged, rejected, forgotten, broken, and hungry for one or more of the following reasons: economic status, physical disability, addiction, trauma, and mental illness. We offer food, clothing, and a safe place for individuals and families to be cared for and encouraged. Though we may be judged for what we do, we continue to operate in the love, mercy, and compassion that we have come to know through Jesus. We have faith that there are people will support us continuing to bring food to the hungry, and hope to the crushed in spirit.
Caring for our community
The Chicken Church feeds the bodies, souls, minds, and spirits of people in our community...including low-income and no-income individuals and families.
Provision
We make available grocery items, hot meals, clothing and toys for those in lack.
Love and Hope
We enable people to experience love and hope through Jesus Christ, regardless of their past or present.
About Us and Our Mission
United Christian Inner-City Ministry was founded by Pastor Mike and Billie English. It has acquired the name "Chicken Church" from the community.
Our mission is to bring love and hope to people who need it. There are those among us who have or do suffer from poverty, disability, addiction, trauma, mental illness, and other debilitating circumstances. Every single person who walks through our door matter to us!
We have experienced what a little bit of love and hope can do for people, and we strive to continue to offer that same love and hope through Jesus Christ.
Service Hours
(Food and clothing available following service)
Sundays at 10:30AM & 6PM
Wednesdays at 6PM
Hearts and Hands Needed
We are not your typical church or outreach. It takes the willingness of helpful hands and hearts, in order to keep the Chicken Church up and running. The funds and supplies needed to continue providing for the community far exceeds what we receive from our members, most of whom live below the poverty line.
If what we do touches your heart, there are many different ways to contribute and be a part of our outreach.
VOLUNTEER: Volunteers needed at The Chicken Church Thursday and Friday mornings @ 10AM, Saturday mornings @ 8:30 AM, and Sunday evenings @ 5PM.
DONATE: The most general donations include non-perishable food items, gently used clothing and toys, craft supplies, cleaning supplies, and bibles. These may be dropped off Wednesday or Sunday evenings @ 5:30PM. Feel free to contact us if you would need an alternate drop-off time day or time.
GIVE: Though we strive very diligently to raise sufficient funds, in order to keep our facility running, we often fall short. Unexpected repairs and replacements are also quite common. Therefore, we offer the option to give financially as well. Just click the button directly below for more information on giving. Every penny goes towards bringing love and hope to people in the community.
